Collaboration drives digital government transformation

The Department of Information and Communication Science and Information Technology is working with PNG DataCo to help the government become more digital.

Both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work toward this goal; to use each other’s responsibilities and skills. The MOU was signed in Port Moresby on the second day of the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association Annual General Meeting and Business Expo.

Several important areas will be looked at, such as wholesale connectivity, creating a Government Private Network, merging Government Technology Stack Components, and strengthening security measures.

DICT and PNG DataCo know how vital hacking is and will work together to strengthen the government’s digital defenses.

By putting in place strong cybersecurity measures, both organizations hope to protect their most critical systems, keep sensitive data safe, and reduce the risks that cyber threats offer.
