TechInPacific – The Government will grant K1 million to the PNG honey industry according to Agriculture and Livestock Minister John Simon.
Part of the Government’s agriculture intervention program, the grant aimed to produce global honey export.
“Honey can become a big industry,” Simon said.
“We will stay with farmers, we will work with them to establish markets, set up centers to properly process honey, and will help them to take their honey to market.”
A policy on the PNG honey industry is being developed in coordination with department secretary Daniel Kombuk.
